How to Deal with the Solidification of Concrete in a Concrete Mixer Truck

2022-06-06 17:10:45
Everyone knows that the modern houses we live in now are all concrete structures. It is obvious that during the construction process of the construction site, we will see tanks of concrete being sucked into the construction site. After pouring the mixed concrete, these concrete mixer trucks need to wait for the workers to level the concrete before dumping the concrete one truck after another. The concrete trucks in the back will wait for a long time, and the concrete will be destroyed after waiting for a long time. If the concrete is solidified in the tank truck, what to do if the concrete is solidified in the truck? Do you know how to solve it?

This situation is the norm in the industry, called "stuffy tank", which refers to the situation in which the concrete is solidified in the tanker (we mentioned it in the article Why Does the Concrete Mixer Truck Keep Rotating?). The person who hates this situation the most is the driver, because the processing method is very time-consuming and requires a lot of money, so the driver will try to avoid this situation, but it is always possible to avoid accidents. Generally, there is a spiral belt in the tank. When the tanker rotates in the forward direction, the concrete is stirred to prevent the concrete from coagulating, and when the tanker rotates in the reverse direction, the concrete in the concrete tank will be released.

How to Deal with the Solidification of Concrete in a Concrete Mixer Truck

Generally, there will be a water tank on the concrete truck. Once it is found that the concrete is about to set, it will be diluted with water so that the concrete will not harden.

Even when the truck cannot be started in an accident, the tank can be turned artificially. Because the price of concrete is far less than that of the tank, when the solidification of the concrete cannot be relieved, the driver will immediately choose to give up the concrete in the tank, dump it on the roadside, and immediately clean the tank.

Therefore, the "stuffy tank" situation generally does not occur. If a "stuffy tank" occurs, it is most likely an accident. Only a truck accident will cause the driver to be unable to relieve the concrete solidification in time. The "stuffy tank" caused by the truck accident cannot be cleaned in time, so manual cleaning will be adopted later. However, this method is very slow to clean up. It requires people to climb in from the mouth of the tank and then use an electric hammer to break up the concrete little by little, and then clean it out little by little. This is a big project, and because of the area of the tank, it can only be done by one person.

The price of cleaning varies from place to place. A tanker is almost 9 cubic meters or 12 cubic meters. In some places, it will cost more than 2,000 dollars, and some places can even be as high as 4,000 dollars. It is also possible to encounter complex situations that cannot be cleaned by an artificial electric hammer. This means that the tank body needs to be divided into several pieces, cleaned and then welded back. Of course, this will cause great damage to the tank body and affect the service life of the tank body. Therefore, this method will not be used unless it is absolutely necessary.
